My Summer Stint as a Marketing Intern with 33 Talent

What motivated you to apply for an internship at 33 Talent?

It was by chance that I came across 33 Talent’s internship posting on InternSG, having no prior experience or connections in the HR field. As I scrolled through 33 Talent’s website, terms such as “HR consulting” and “coaching” were unfamiliar to me – but something about the company’s three-pronged approach and unique values intrigued me. Despite my lack of HR knowledge, I decided to take a chance and apply, eager to learn more about both marketing and HR. 13 weeks later, I’m truly glad I did, because I’ve learnt so much about content creation, HR, and stakeholder relations.

What Were Your Primary Responsibilities During Your Internship?

During my time at 33 Talent, my primary responsibilities revolved around content creation and design. I had the chance to work on a variety of tasks, including writing and designing LinkedIn posts and newsletters, crafting blog posts, and other miscellaneous tasks such as tracking newsletter analytics or editing the website.

One of my favourite aspects of the role was the creative freedom I was given. Whether it was brainstorming ideas for our content calendar or designing graphics, the team trusted my judgment and treated me like an equal. This not only allowed me to develop my skills but also boosted my confidence in my abilities, especially with their positive feedback.

Apart from this, I was also given the chance to learn outside the office by attending some of 33 Talent’s training workshops! I got to observe our Head Coach Cat’s Active Listening workshop, which you can read about in more detail here – and our Managing Director Kath’s Identify The Job You Want workshop at Google, where I assisted her with an on-the-spot demonstration of the various tools that could aid in a job search. It was truly eye-opening to learn not only about the content covered, but also what delivering a successful training session should look like – the participants seemed to be truly engaged in the process and had valuable takeaways.

How Did the Team at 33 Talent Support Your Professional Growth?

Another remarkable of my internship was the incredible support I received from the 33 Talent team. From day one, I felt like a valued member of the team, and everyone was eager to help me succeed. The team was close-knit and incredibly friendly, and I always felt comfortable asking questions or seeking guidance. Additionally, the “Results Only Working Environment” meant everyone could work when and where they were most productive I greatly appreciated the hybrid work arrangement - this ensured that I had social interaction with my colleagues in office, and sufficient rest during WFH days.

My supervisor, Gemma, was especially supportive. She regularly checked in with me to see how I was doing, would ask for my feedback on the tasks I was working on, and if there was something I wanted to learn more about. She ensured I was enjoying the work and not overwhelmed.

Final Thoughts?

Despite only being 3 months, my internship was an invaluable experience that provided me with a solid foundation for my future career, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity. I would wholeheartedly recommend an internship with 33 Talent to anyone interested in gaining hands-on experience in the talent management industry with a friendly and supportive team.

Thank you, 33 Talent, for an enriching summer!
